About

I am first and foremost, a Christian, a husband to my wife Darlene, a minister of the Gospel of Christ, and it just so happens that I am also an Alaskan Registered Guide. Revelation Mountain Outfitters is our business and it is my full time profession. Sorry, but I don’t have time for another secular career and this one at the same time. I am a resident of West Virginia and travel to Alaska when the time is at hand for hunt preparations and actual hunting, and I hope prospective clients understand that this is no way makes our outfit any less productive than our local competitors. It simply means it cost me more to travel! Some old timers (and newcomers as well) will try to convince hunters that only the resident guides of Alaska really know where the game is since they live right out there in the midst of it, but this is quite the big joke for those who are really familiar with Alaska hunting. Nothing is certain about the wildlife, and even if a local guide knows all the animals by first name, he still can’t hunt them exclusively, nor can he hide them from everyone else that comes into the country via SuperCub. We all know where the game is, the hard part is getting it to cooperate.
Our main focus at this time is brown bear and Dall sheep, but we can customize a hunt for almost anyone, and we like to think of ourselves as a primitive hardcore type of hunting outfit. Freeze dried meals and small expedition tents are “par for the course.” We also like to think we offer something a little different for the discerning hunter and that is a personalized approach to the hunt. We are not running 50-75 hunters through a conveyor belt camp every year like some of the big outfits in the state, and this isn’t the type of outfit where you don’t even know who owns the whole operation.
Please check frequently on the blog here as we like to keep everyone up to date, and we typically use this venue to post any hunt specials that we are offering through the year.
